The Story of Ellie Mae
My name is Emily K. and I have the pleasure of calling one of your puppies my own. I can’t believe it has taken me this long to write to you but it’s amazing how quickly time can get away from you. I didn’t adopt Ellie Mae directly from you which is why it has taken me some time to track you down and finally say thank you for such an amazing little dog. I was given her papers upon my adoption of her, but they have unfortunately been misplaced in several moves. I do know that Alex is her father – their resemblance is uncanny! And her given title on the paper work is “Ellie Mae’s Black Tie Affair.”
Ellie Mae was adopted from your farm by a woman who lived in Virginia Beach, VA. She worked at a local doggie day care where my sister also worked. Unfortunately, she claimed “she never felt a connection with Miss. Ellie and she was bigger than she thought she was going to be (She was only 6lbs when I got her) and couldn’t seem to potty train her.” She would leave Ellie at the day care each night. My sister, who has a mini schnauzer of her own, took Ellie under her wing and would bring her home with her each night so she wouldn’t have to stay at the day care. Ellie and her schnauzer, Heidi, are the best of friends.
The woman was about to move and decided she financially could no longer care for Ellie so she told my sister if she could find someone, Ellie could go free to a good home. My sister immediately called me asking if I was interested. Of course, I was thrilled and came to get Ellie right away. She was almost 1 year old and the cutest dog I had ever seen, so tiny and sweet. I had no trouble finding a connection with her and potty training her took no time at all, just required a little effort and love.
Ellie Mae will turn 5 this October, and has been the best thing to happen to me. She truly is my best friend and partner in crime, I can’t imagine my life without her now. She has the biggest personality I’ve ever seen and is full of energy and snuggles all at the same time. My friends and family joke that we are the same person, knowing exactly what the other is about to do. I know I didn’t have the pleasure of adopting Ellie Mae from you directly but I just want to say thank you and let you know what a wonderful dog she is. We both couldn’t be happier. I have attached some photos of Ellie for you to look at.
Thank you again, truly.
