Breeding Beautiful
Schnauzers Since 1990
Lonestar Farms was founded by Katherine Reed in Madisonville, Texas with a simple mission: raise healthy, happy schnauzers in a home environment so they become exceptional companions for life.
For over 35 years, Katherine has dedicated herself exclusively to schnauzers — their health, their temperament, and their happiness. Every puppy born at Lonestar Farms is held daily from birth, socialized with people, and raised as part of the family.
Katherine works hands-on with every litter. She personally answers every call and email, knows each of her dogs by name, and takes pride in matching the right puppy with the right family. When you call Lonestar Farms, you talk to Katherine — not a staff member, not an answering service.
"I love what I do," Katherine says. "Watching a puppy go home with a family who adores them — that never gets old."
What We Believe
Our Breeding Philosophy
Health First
Every dam and sire is health-tested before breeding. We select for genetic soundness, proper conformation, and the temperament traits that make schnauzers such extraordinary family dogs. We never breed for novelty at the expense of health.
Selective Breeding
Our breeding program is built on decades of carefully selected genetics across all four size varieties — miniature, toy, teacup, and giant. We maintain relationships with top breeders nationwide to continually improve our program.
Home Raised
Every puppy is whelped and raised in our home — not in a kennel. From the first day of life, our puppies are handled daily, exposed to household sounds and activity, and socialized with people of all ages. This makes for calmer, more confident puppies.
Honest & Transparent
We believe buyers deserve the full picture. We'll tell you exactly what to expect from your puppy's parents, temperament, and size. No surprises — just honest communication from first call to pickup day.
